My First Blog!

For one of my class, I need to start an individual blog... so here I am! Well, where do I start... I am currently trying to finish my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education; I am planning on pursuing a teaching career and hoping to graduate in spring of 2010 if all goes well! The class I'm taking this semester put emphasis on technology in the classroom. For past decade, I notice how technology has become a big part of people's lives.  The interaction with technology, as one move toward the future, becomes a daily routine.  I am getting aware of the fact that in order to be productive in a classroom, I would have to be knowledgeable about the technology.  There are positive impacts on education from using technology in the classroom.  I heard the positive findings from using the technology in a classroom was that it gives a positive effect on students' attitudes toward learning, their achievement, their self esteem, and increase teacher/student interaction. I remember when I was a teacher aide at some elementary school for few years; the teachers have lot of awesome technology stuff like smartboard, computers, and projectors.  The students love it! They think they are playing games but they are actually learning.  I think when the students are having fun; their learning curve is at its peak.   When I become a teacher, I want to involve technology as much as possible in the classroom for me and the students to use.  I want the students to be able learn and use technology because they will be using it lot more as they moves toward the future.  I'm hoping this class will give me some good ideas for activities or projects that I could use for my teaching career.
